Our Story
…because Art should belong to everyone! India has 1.4 billion people — yet over 85% have never attended a single art event. Colorothon was built to change that. Permanently.
Since our inception in 2014, Colorothon has brought everyone from all walks of life together to rediscover the child within, through art. Beyond linguistic, religious, cultural, generational, social and economic boundaries, people gather under open skies and draw, sketch and paint — with over 2,00,000 people and over 1,000 renowned artists creating 50,000+ paintings across 5 States in India, across 10 editions in just over a decade.
Mission
A flagship project of the Colorothon Foundation, Colorothon Day attempts to invite the 1.4 Billion beautiful people spread across 28 States and 8 Union Territories of Incredible India and unite them in colours. We know the amazing impact of colours coming together to create a wonderful piece of art — why not scale it up to a Billion Indians coming together to create the World’s Largest Human Art Movement?
Vision
We’ve already touched 2,00,000 lives, but we know that in a nation the size of India it is not even close to enough. We want to create a feeling of togetherness — through art — the scale of which has never been seen before via open-for-all events without any tickets or barriers. We want to celebrate the incredible diversity of cultures, traditions, languages, ethnicities, colours and creeds of India across the geography of this country.
Come, be a part of this amazing journey.
